How does a domestic waterworks system function?
Water is drawn from a source, such as a cistern, separated from air in the pressure tank, and stored until it is withdrawn. The pressure control ensures that when the pressure in the pressure tank falls below a certain level, the pump starts up and rebuilds the target pressure. This allows small amounts of water to be withdrawn without the pump starting up each time.
A ZUWA domestic waterworks system generally consists of three components: a robust, powerful centrifugal pump, a pump control unit, and a pressure gauge. The centrifugal pump is self-priming and can be equipped with an electronic or mechanical pump control unit. Of course, we also offer matching pressure vessels.
What are the advantages of a domestic waterworks system?
With a domestic waterworks system from ZUWA, you can draw water from your rainwater cistern, your own pond, or lake, and thus obtain your service water free of charge. In addition, a domestic waterworks system can be used to increase the pressure for the service water. Depending on the area of application and the number of consumers, the necessity and dimensioning of the pressure tank must be selected. Our employees will be happy to advise you on finding the ideal setup for you and your purposes.
Where is it appropriate to use a domestic waterworks system?
A domestic waterworks system with a gray cast iron centrifugal pump is suitable for supplying water to outdoor facilities and for garden irrigation. For supplying water to sanitary facilities, we recommend a stainless steel domestic waterworks system.
How is a domestic waterworks system connected?
Connecting a domestic waterworks system is usually very simple and takes very little time. When connecting your domestic waterworks system, please note the following points:
- The domestic waterworks should be placed in a frost-free and dry location.
- There should be a power connection for the domestic waterworks at the place of use.
- The water pipe should reach the operating point of the domestic waterworks.
- Clarify whether you want to use the water only in the house or garden, or in both areas.
- From what depth will the water be drawn?
- To what height must the water be transported?
1: Domestic waterworks
2: Rainwater collection point, either a rain barrel or a larger cistern
3: Groundwater use for garden showers or swimming pools
4: Water for cleaning vehicles
5: Garden irrigation
6: Filling ponds
Types of domestic waterworks
ZUMATIC mechanical pump control
Mechanical pump control with pressure compensation tank, pressure switch, and pressure gauge. Particularly suitable for pressure boosting and for high-capacity pumps (no dry-running protection).
PRESFLO VARIO electronic pump control
The PRESFLO VARIO electronic pump control automatically switches on the pump when the system pressure drops by opening the water tap. The pump switches off again when the shut-off pressure is reached or when the tap is closed. Includes dry-running protection (automatic shut-off in case of water shortage) and protection against abnormal operating conditions (e.g., dripping tap).
Facilities:
- With screw connection, cable, and plug
- Tool-free adjustment of system pressure possible from 0.8-2.4 bar
- For 230 V pumps
